Chapter 37

-Ava’s POV-

Grayson was going to kill my father.

In all actuality, he was going to kill my father. I watched paralyzed as Grayson’s claws tightened around my father and it 1 like I forgot how to move.

Or maybe I didn’t want to because I didn’t know whose side to pick.

Did I even know whose side I was on anymore?

After what felt like an eternity, Grayson let him go. My father staggered back and didn’t miss a beat, throwing his head ba with a dark, bitter laugh. That sound… it only fueled the rage radiating from Grayson. His chest was heaving, fists clencher tight

I could practically feel the lethal intent pouring off him in waves.

The anger that my father had fueled the moment we walked into his office and I was starting to regret telling Grayson that my father would still be at the hospital not like it mattered, he was already driving in that direction.

I followed him as he stormed through the building, his strides powerful, purposeful. Two things were on my mind:

How the hell did he know exactly where my father’s office was?

And were people clearing the way because they recognized me as Luther Pierce’s daughter? Or because of the look Grayson’s face?

I was betting it was the latter.

When we got to the office, my father was on the phone, and Grayson didn’t even bother knocking. He just shoved the door open. Luther took one look at him and ended the call without hesitation, a cruel smile twisting his lips.

“So he’s alive after all. Quite unfortunate.”

That was it. The moment that sentence left my father’s mouth, everything escalated. Grayson crossed the room in an instant, grabbing Luther’s coat and pulling him so close their noses almost touched. His voice was a low, dangerous growl. “You sent them?”

Luther didn’t flinch. Not even with Grayson’s claws extending, pressing into his throat. Instead, that sadistic smile grew, his eyes gleaming. “Ah, the bastard finally reveals what he is.”

The laugh echoed off the walls, taunting, daring Grayson to do something. And for a second, I thought he might. I could see the raw fury in his eyes, the animal inside him itching to tear my father apart.
