Kane froze at the word “divorce.” He pulled back from my neck to study my face. “Do you even know what you’re saying?” he asked, loosening his grip on my wrists.

I drew my hands protectively to my chest and searched his expression for any hint of pain at the suggestion. But I was fooling myself. He was one of the most powerful Alphas in our pack, second only to his father. A divorce would give him back his freedom- exactly what he wanted. Why would he be upset?

Tears spilled down my cheeks as I repeated, “Let’s get a divorce.”
