“We don’t know. Even during your marriage, he was still respectful. But after you left the pack, he changed. He became cold–hearted,” Garrett said, thinking back to when Kane started acting differently.

I took Diana’s hand and rubbed it gently. “Everything will be okay. Please don’t cry.”

She nodded and wiped her tears, “I’m just worried about my husband.”

I looked at Garrett, who seemed so weak. My own tears started falling, and I quickly wiped them away.

I was always emotional – I couldn’t stand seeing others suffer. Alpha Garrett was someone I deeply respected. I remembered him healthy and strong, with an aura that commanded respect. Now that powerful man lay here, weak and frail.
