Selene had no idea where Kane’s gaze was fixed, but she assumed the worst. Heat rushed to her face as she quickly crossed her arms over her chest, shielding herself.

Selene frowned, not understanding what he meant. Pulling the blanket up, she wrapped it tightly around herself, seeking warmth against the lingering chill in her body.
