"I feel so out of place here, Emery. I'm not family, I shouldn't be here.” Miss Beatrice states from behind me.

I turn around and smile at the older woman and then hug her, "You have been my family for almost three years, Miss Beatrice..."

Grinning, I link my arm through hers and I start making our way around the party.
