Olivia spent her days being wheeled around the garden by her maid or chatting with Maisy in the living

room downstairs.

Maisy was very thoughtful about Olivia’s feelings, careful not to bring up anything that might upset her. But lately, Olivia seemed happier, which made Maisy feel relieved. Her affection for Olivia grew stronger
