With the tables turned so abruptly, a heavy silence fell over everyone. They quietly watched Marissa, waiting for her to defend herself. Yet, at this point, no matter what she said, it would only sound unconvincing.

She anxiously looked at Dominick, her eyes brimming with unshed tears as her voice cracked with desperation. "Dom..."
