Chapter 44: Francisco’s POV

It wasn’t hard to frame this Matthew fellow. His apartment was vacant, not even a dog to defend his territory. A sad method of living if you ask me. I had my men in and out with ease. The drugs were but a small price compared to what I would receive for my cooperation from Charlotte and I would do anything to please her.

My evil little mon Cher was worth the work. Her criminal and sadistic ways excited me.

I’d like to say I had turned over a new leaf before coming back to her. I had been living in France for a few years, conducting legitimate businesses under the financial pretenses of my mafia life and I had been comfortable for the most part but I had become bored of being a “good guy” and longed for excitement. Although I had no intention of coming back until I heard the news about Charlotte’s father.

I came all the way here to be her confidant. A bold effort in trying to show her that the man she had chosen was the wrong choice. An effort, even I knew, would be fruitless. Even as this Leo character pushed her aside, married someone else and disregarded her – she still longed for his dedication, love and companionship.
