Chapter 137 Cameron's Misunderstanding

Allison got to school early the next morning. With Alexander out on a business trip, he had a bodyguard take her to school.

Thanks to the whole Cameron situation, Allison always had a bodyguard with her when she was out. She didn't mind, though it was for her safety. As she walked into the classroom and set her backpack down, she noticed Mia dragging herself in, looking completely wiped out.

Mia plopped down at her desk, dropped her backpack on it, and then just collapsed on top of it.

"Hey, are you okay? You look awful," Allison asked, her voice full of concern.

Mia's face was pale, her usually bright eyes were bloodshot, and she had this haunted look that was so unlike her. Something was seriously wrong. Allison's heart went out to Mia.

"Allison, tell me... if my dad leaves my mom and me for another woman to have a son, can I still call him my dad?" Mia asked.

Allison froze, stunned. A son?

She quickly put the pieces together. "Did you overhear something?"

Mia nodded. "I heard my parents fighting. My mom said Laura is trying to find my dad another woman so he can have a son. She said there'd be no place for us in the Wilson family anymore. Laura said our family needs a son!" Allison couldn't believe carefree Mia was dealing with something so heavy.

Favoring boys over girls was something Allison absolutely hated. She grew up with Valencia, a strong woman who never felt less than any man.
