The two only met for a brief second before Dr. Dylan was off into the patient’s room, without even having the chance to say hello.

Allison stood outside, leaning against the hospital wall with her eyes closed. Even though it was already night, the hospital was still bustling with activity.

Doctors, nurses, and patients were coming and going. A nurse recognized Allison and asked, “Allison, is it your mom who’s not feeling well?”

“Mhm.” Allison knew this nurse, but at the moment, she just wasn’t in the mood for a chat. What happened tonight was beyond Allison’s expectations, and she still couldn’t calm her emotions.
