Chapter 487

Allison got a call from the hospital nurse, saying Grace was ready to be discharged. She rubbed her forehead and said, “Thank you. I got it.” After hanging up, her brows remained furrowed.

She couldn’t suppress the pressure in her heart, feeling like there was a lump in her chest that just wouldn’t go away. After a few minutes, she sighed and called Emma, asking her to find a reliable home service agency. She needed a nanny to take care of Grace.

Emma was efficient. By the afternoon, a nanny had arrived at Blue Mountain Estate. Allison called the nanny and gave her some instructions, especially reminding her to make sure Grace took her meds on time, and look after her diet and general well-being. The guest bedroom would be the nanny’s quarters.

The nanny nodded, “Understoods.”

When Grace got home and pushed open the door, she saw the living room was tidy as a pin. A woman in her forties, wearing a blue apron, with her mid-length hair tied up, was mopping the floor. Seeing Grace, Sammy said, “Miss Zimmer sent me to look after you.”

As a nanny assigned by the home service agency, Sammy had no idea about what was going on between Grace and Allison. She just assumed it was a busy daughter unable to take care of her sick mother.

Grace looked at this stranger in her house, feeling bewildered. It seemed like she was thinking about what Sammy had just said. “You said my daughter sent you to look after me?”
