Chapter 47: Meeting again

Anya needed not telling who it was. His gaze threatened to burn a hole through her. She just did not understand why he was staring so much. She had regretted taking on this project. But as time went on, she regretted it even more.

James saw that Daniel could not keep his eyes off Anya; it was as though he wished to burn at hole through her being. He knew his friend was hurt, but there was nothing that could be done at this point but take things slowly. If he kept staring at her, so many people would start to notice. The more she ignored him, the more his frustration grew.

But his frustration extended past her indifference. He could not help but notice that Anya was quite close to Stanley. He leaned into her too often; it was an eyesore. He was not the only one who noticed this; James had already noticed their closeness. Even though they were not dating, they were obviously friends.
