Chapter 285: The Grey Family’s fall.

News was soon spreading that James Grey had cut ties with the Grey family. It was news that was eventually going to get out anyway, but it got out faster than usual and the effects were rolling in. Elena, one of James' niece. His younger brother, Gregor's daughter was seeing her marriage crumble.

She had run away fro home to marry thinking she had hidden her identity. But how can things be hidden? Her husband's mistress had soon found out and now the Grey family had lost James Grey's support, she no more had to fear Elena.

Elena stared at the article in her hand with a blank face. The maids in the living room held their breath when they aw her reading it. The article read; Actress, Melanie getting picked up by her man.

She scoffed at this. She felt stupid. It was not the first time this had happened. Yet this was the first time it had happened so publicly.

She was frozen as she stared at the images of her husband and Melanie. She felt anger and the slight urge to vomit.

Melanie was the woman her husband, Donald was supposed to marry, but things went wrong and she ended up marrying Donald instead. She had thought she had chosen well, but Melanie was a wall blocking her way. She did not understand why he would do this to her, and with that woman of all people.

She looked around the room, towards the dinning table at the end where her birthday cake was prepared. She had told him, today was her birthday, but, he who should have arrived by now, went to the airport to pick another woman.

She looked up to find the little staff frozen in place, a look of worry on her face.

"You can go back now," Elena waved the girl away and she hurried to leave, only for Elena to stop her, "Clear the table," she ordered and the maid nodded and hurried away.

As she watched them clear the table, she felt numb. She picked up her phone and texted Donald, telling him that she had seen the photos. "Let's get a divorce," she said and put the phone down.

She sighed. Why was she doing this? Why was she staying here to suffer? To be disrespected...
