As Zephyr turned to leave, Thalassa’s heart raced, a mix of panic and desperation seizing her. She started to rise, intent on pleading for him to stay, but Joshua beat her to it, standing with an air of resolve.

With his eyes fixed on Zephyr’s retreating form, Joshua said, “Thalassa gave birth to quadruplets for Lysander, a miracle in its own right. If she can perform miracles like that, I believe she can make another one happen by taking care of Lysander.”

His words were no longer veiled implications of Thalassa’s intent but an explicit declaration of why they had come to visit Zephyr together.

Zephyr’s already fragile nerves jolted at the statement. He stopped in his tracks and spun around, his eyes clouded with anger. “Do you have any idea what she’s done before?” he spat at Joshua. “She once took a prop and smashed it over Lysander’s head. If it weren’t for someone stepping in to take the blow, Lysander would have been left in a vegetative state from that moment!”

As Zephyr spoke, his breathing grew erratic, his fury mounting with every word.
