Getting engaged to Rosalind, and even marrying her, was Lysander's choice. Thalassa knew this deep down. If Lysander wasn't willing, nobody could force him. Joshua was dead set on setting up Rosalind with Lysander, that much was true, because Rosalind was his beloved daughter. Of course, he wanted the best man for her.

In Joshua's eyes, Thalassa could never compare to Rosalind. Thalassa never harbored any illusions that Joshua would treat her better than he did Rosalind. She always knew where she stood. Once Lysander was safely in, she signaled to David to stow the ramp away. While directing David, she shot him a look of disdain.
