Lysander was spot on when he said that kids grow up and carve out their own slice of the sky. They're bound to spread their wings and fly, and they can't live under their parents' wings forever. As parents, we've got to learn to let go, to let them soar freely. That's the truest form of love.

But the thought of her kids actually growing up, not needing her constant care and attention anymore, still made Thalassa's heart ache.

"Look at you, getting all teary," Lysander said, noticing her tears and growing even more concerned. He raised his hand, his thumb gently wiping away the tears that slid down her face.

His rough thumb, grazing over Thalassa's soft cheeks, felt like sparks flying-a tingling, numbing sensation.

It was like a jolt of electricity for Thalassa, wiping away some of the sorrow buried deep in her heart.

Thalassa reached up, holding Lysander's hand against her face, nestling her cheek into his palm. Clutching his hand, she looked up at him with tear-filled eyes, her voice soft and tender, "So, it's spouses who get to stay together forever, right?"

Lysander's eyes flickered briefly, then filled with a gentle warmth, "Yeah, let's make it official on Monday. We'll go get married."
