"Because you deserve to be loved," David blurted out unexpectedly.

Not only did Rosalind freeze in surprise, but David himself was taken aback by his own words. He had only meant to think it, not say it aloud. Was this something he could actually say in front of Rosalind?

Rosalind was stunned, looking at David with a mix of astonishment and disbelief. The words he had just let slip seemed too intimate, as if hinting at something more, throwing her already flustered heart into further disarray.

David, equally shocked, found himself at a loss for words, unsure how to retract his sudden declaration. On the bustling city street, amidst the cacophony of honking cars and passing crowds, there was a moment of silence between them, as if they were the only two people in the world.

Time seemed to stand still until the surrounding noises slowly crept back into David's awareness. He awkwardly attempted to smile, ready to offer some explanation.

Just then, Joshua's anxious voice called from behind, "Rosalind, dear, why did you rush off like that?"

Hearing Joshua, David quickly turned, a bit flustered, and said, "Mr. Whitman, I've made sure Rosalind is safe. Please remind her not to jaywalk. It's dangerous. I've got to run, got things to take care of."

David hurried off towards his office. Out of Rosalind and Joshua's sight, he wiped the sweat
