"Am I being too dramatic? I am the mother of the groom, for heaven's sake! Seeing my own son getting pushed around, how can I not be upset?" Angelina's tone was as haughty as ever. Hertha was about to respond when Alaric stepped forward, shielding her with his body, and confronted Angelina, "Hertha and I are already legally married. The wedding ceremony is just a formality." He wanted to make it clear to Angelina that he and Hertha were husband and wife in the eyes of the law.

No matter how much she fussed, she couldn't change that fact.

"So what if you're married? People get divorced all the time!" Angelina retorted, stunning everyone around.

It was clear Angelina was intent on causing a scene at the wedding.

Ethan, being Alaric's best man and boss, couldn't just stand by and watch Alaric's big day get ruined.

He stood up to negotiate with Angelina.

"There's a lounge over there. Can we talk this out?" Ethan suggested politely to Angelina.

But Angelina, in a fit of rage, shoved him away, "This is all your fault! If it weren't for you hiring Alaric at your company, he would never have dared to stay away from the Falconer family for so long!" Ethan staggered back from the force of her shove, still weak from his recent injuries, bracing for a fall.

Unexpectedly, someone caught him from behind.

Turning around, Ethan's face lit up with relief when he saw Lydia.
