As Evelyn and Deck stepped into the suite after Derek opened the door with his card, Evelyn couldn't help surveying the room.

She sighed when her eyes fell on the single king-sized bed dominating the space.

Her eyes then darted to the couch in the room. Although it was small, she decided it was best she slept there.

The scent of fresh laundry wafted from the bed, enticing her to reconsider, but she stood firm. There was no way she was going to share a bed with this daredevil, feel the warmth of his body, or inhale the enticing scent of his skin.

Derek glanced at the plush sofa, and then back at her as he undid his tie. "You won't be comfortable there. Besides, we can share the bed. It's big enough for both of us. You don't have to be scared," he said with a grin, his deep voice low and peruusive.

The sound of his voice seemed to vibrate through her body, making her skin tingle but Evelyn shot him a glare, her eyes flashing with determination. "I'd rather not." she said fiercely, her voice firm. "I thought we were beginning to get along." Derek said since he had noticed how friendly she had been in the following days after he told her the story of his adoption.

"Getting along doesn't mean I want to sleep on the same bed with you." Evelyn went to sit on the couch, the soft cushions enveloped her, but she couldn't relax. How could she when she was supposed to spend not just one but two nights with Derek?
