Chapter /13

Brittany froze in her tracks.

She had always known that Isaac, with his insufferable pride, was never one to apologize. He would have professed his love for her while stabbing her in the back, even going as far as to make arrangements for their marriage without her consent.

She never thought she would see the day when Isaac would apologize so sincerely.

“I owe you an apology,” he said.

“If I could do it all over, I wouldn’t have acted like this.” Isaac’s eyes were dark and intense. “If I had known we would end up like this, I would have pursued you seriously when you returned to the country. I would have made up for all the harm I’ve caused you.”

If he could turn back time, he would never let Brittany suffer. He definitely wouldn’t have handled their marriage formalities behind her back.

Isaac pressed his lips together, clearly unwilling.
