After spending a fortnight in Craneville, Brittany had caught up with all her friends.

Since Ophelia called off her engagement with the Lynette family, Vincent had been relentless. He repeatedly apologized and professed his love for her.

Ophelia turned a deaf ear to his apologies and confronted him about the other woman’s pregnancy. “And what about the child she’s carrying?”

Vincent hesitated. “The child is innocent. Once the baby is born, I’ll have her leave Craneville. She won’t disrupt our life.”

Ophelia’s jaw dropped at his shamelessness. “So, let me get this straight, you expect me to play stepmother before I even marry you?”
