Mr. Walker didn't think Autumn and Devin were rekindling anything, but he couldn't help feeling jealous-he was only human, after all.

They'd been each other's first love, and now, after all these years, their relationship still wasn't simple. Of course Mr. Walker kept his guard up.

Recently, Autumn seemed distant, lost in thought, and she was oddly invested in Julie's situation. She'd even been talking about making Joseph her godson-all for Julie's sake.

The assistant shot Mr. Walker a quick look, trying to guess what he was thinking. "Yes, Mr. Walker," he said.

Mr. Walker closed his eyes, looking calm on the outside, but inside, his thoughts were spinning out of control. He couldn't stop wondering what Autumn and Devin might talk about, or what could happen between them.

Autumn tried to shoo Devin out. "You've dropped off what you needed to, so you can go now."

"Come on, Autumn, we're old friends. I haven't even had breakfast yet-aren't you going to invite me in for something to eat?" Devin grinned, shameless as ever. When Autumn didn't answer, he just strolled in on his own.

The housekeeper was clearing the table. Devin flashed a smile. "Hey, don't pack everything up yet. Could you make me a bowl of noodles?"

The housekeeper glanced at Autumn, who'd followed Devin in.

"Go ahead," Autumn said, trying to sound casual. She had to treat Devin like just another guest.

She hoped he'd eat and leave.

Once the noodles were served, Autumn found an excuse to send the
