Marion was unaware that Lucas had already seen her ‘heroic deeds‘.

She slept the entire way in a daze. When the car arrived at the villa gate, the driver called her twice before she opened her eyes. She fumbled in her wallet and pulled out a fifty–dollar bill, saying, “Keep the change, sir!”
