Hearing him, Avery felt even more ashamed. She never thought there would come a day when Zayne would call her a wench.

Cayden refused to let go of her ankle. She tried to crawl backward, terrified of him because he seemed to want to devour her.

As she struggled for some time, her ankle reddened.

“Ouch...” she cried.

Bang! Bang!

Zayne pounded on the door again.

The door was almost reaching its breaking point, which filled Avery with anxiety. Her already pale face turned even more ashen.

Just as she was at a loss, Cayden leaned over and locked her trembling lips with his.

Then, the man's hot breath hit Avery's ear as he panted sexily.

At this moment, a sound traveled from the outside.

On the other side, Zayne turned around, only to spot four policemen and the residential area's security guard exiting the elevator.

“Please come with us!”

Zayne darted his eyes from them to the door. In a dissatisfied tone, he questioned, “Since when were the police involved in people's personal affairs?”

“You're being reported for trespassing, so please cooperate with us,” said one of the policemen, taking action.

Everything that transpired outside the room was heard by Avery.

By then, Cayden had already released her.

Wrapping herself tightly with a blanket, she curled up under it. Although it was pouring outside, it was still humid, and she had not turned on the air conditioner. Hence, she was covered in sweat.

There was a particular scent in the room after the couple did their deed.

Avery did not know why Cayden stopped out of the blue, but she was grateful for it. Perhaps he suddenly realized he shouldn't do this.

Meanwhile, Cayden was standing motionless by the open window. Lowering his head, he lit a cigarette and took a drag, a frown settling on his face. Then he fished out his phone and dialed a number.

When the other party picked up the phone, he ordered, “Have Dr. Zeller come here. Same place. Hurry.”

Upon hearing that, Avery could not comprehend why he had just asked a doctor to come.

Dr. Zeller? She's the one who treated me in the hospital, and what does he mean by “same place”? Also, who reported to the police earlier? A neighbor? Or did Cayden do it secretly?

After Cayden finished puffing on the cigarette, he turned his head to look at her, noting that she remained in the same spot.

Under the sound of the pouring rain, he approached her and roughly pulled her toward him. While half-carrying her, he peeled the blanket away.

As she was exposed to him, Avery felt embarrassed. “What do you want now?”

Even though he had been called an animal by her earlier, he did not get mad. Instead, he put her down and stated in a gentle tone, “Go get washed up. Dr. Zeller will be here shortly.”

Avery was a bit stupefied by his words.

“You're bleeding,” he informed, feeling guilty.

The woman was instantly stumped, as she understood which part of her he was referring to.

After all, only when that part bled would he stop doing it, even when he was extremely turned on.

“How can that be?” Avery panicked.

Still wrapped in the blanket, Avery sat up, only to notice the bloodstain the size of a fingernail on the bedsheet.

When she was being invaded by Cayden earlier, she kept worrying about Zayne barging in, resulting in her not noticing anything else.

Now that she saw the ghastly sight, she was shocked.

Had it been under normal circumstances, she would not be this anxious, especially since it was only the size of a fingernail. However, considering she had just taken an aphrodisiac a few hours ago, things could be bad.

Just then, Kylee's advice echoed in her mind.

If it's serious, I might lose my uterus...

Not saying anything else, Cayden shot her another glance before he turned around and walked toward the messy living room. The simple furniture had been destroyed by Zayne.

There was even a cigarette butt on the floor, with the ash scattered all over.

On the flip side, Avery took a deep breath, consoling herself that everything would be fine.

Other than a slight backache, she felt nothing else, which she thought was a good sign.

In her nightgown, she went to the bathroom.

Before entering, though, she realized she had not brought her pajama along, so she strolled toward the wardrobe to take it.

Due to Cayden's rough and intense actions earlier, the nightgown could no longer be worn.

Taking the pajama, she then proceeded to the bathroom.

After washing for a long time and making sure her body was completely clean, Avery crouched in the bathroom and hugged her knees, unwilling to face the man just yet.

It was not until Kylee arrived that she fixed her hair and exited the bathroom in her pajama.

Xavier was there as well, but he did not come in.
