Wisteria, standing in front of the camera, was dressed in a fitting and elegant outfit. She wore a calm facial expression, and her curly hair was tied into a bun behind her head, giving her a professional and smart appearance.

As she stayed by Cayden's side the whole time, the two seemed like a match made in heaven.

Cayden remained steadfast even with multiple cameras pointed at him.

Listening to the reporters' harsh questions, he kept his composure and said, “Trident Group's restaurants have always been certified in all aspects. The Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision can back us up with evidence regarding this issue. As for the food-related problem faced by Regal Garden this time, I suspect there's another reason behind it. We are still investigating whether this incident occurred due to natural causes or human errors. After the result from the investigation is finalized, Trident Group will host another press conference to provide the media and public with an explanation.”

Avery frowned slightly.

Regal Garden under Trident Group at Western Epea is facing a crisis, not to mention a food-related problem. The significance of this matter doesn't merely concern the quality of the food or the monetary loss. Instead, this may even affect Trident Group's century-old reputation.

A multinational company's good name was essential in giving the corporation an edge in the competitive market.

If Trident Group intended to expand its business at Western Epea, yet failed to resolve those issues, the group would undoubtedly receive more criticism and ostracism. The unfavorable turns of events would absolutely be detrimental to Trident Group's future development.

After that, Wisteria began answering the reporters' questions in Cayden's stead.

She emanated the dominance of a strong woman. Her replies were well-grounded and rendered others unable to retort.

She had always exhibited great diplomatic finesse and was famous for her swift and decisive manner in handling business, which was similar to Cayden's style.

While the reporters were deliberately making things difficult for her, Wisteria managed to respond to them skillfully. Not only did the answers she gave effectively address their questions, but she also ingeniously reverted the queries to the reporters.

All the reporters were astounded after listening to Wisteria's perfect responses. They showered her with praises, as she certainly lived up to her reputation as one of Cayden's most competent assistants.

Avery was slightly dazed as she took in the scene. Indescribable bitterness suddenly surged within her chest. If I'm the one supporting Cayden now, I'm not sure if I can do as well as Wisteria. I'm aware of my ineloquent nature. In contrast, Ms. Summers is not only exceptional because of her great looks, but she's also equipped with tactics as formidable as Cayden's and resourceful interpersonal relationships.

For the first time in her life, Avery felt inferior in her romantic relationship. Perhaps a capable woman who can keep up with Cayden's outstanding abilities is more suitable to be with him. Someone as unassertive as me cannot bring him any benefit. I may even become his burden...

“Mommy, why did you switch off the television? I can't see Daddy anymore.” Rory's protesting voice suddenly sounded in the quiet living room.

Avery regained her senses and realized she had unknowingly turned off the television.

Seeing Rory running up to her, Avery picked the little girl up and sat on the couch. “Your daddy went out to deal with some matters. He'll be back after a few days. Have you eaten, Rory?”

At that instant, holding her daughter in her arms, Avery had to maintain the appearance of a gentle mother regardless of how aggrieved she felt.

Rory nodded.

Although Rory had a blithe nature, which was in contrast to her brother's thoughtfulness, even she could sense her mother's recent unusual behavior.

Mommy has been spacing out recently. Why is this happening? Is it because of Daddy?

“Mommy, you can take a break today. I'll help you clean the dishes.” Zachary looked at Avery with worry.

He collected the plates and utensils on the dining table and walked toward the kitchen. Mommy hasn't been acting like her usual self lately. Is it because she's exhausted from work?

“Me too! I want to help too! Mommy, Zach and I will help you wash the dishes,” Rory chimed in cutely.

“Zach, be good and spend time with your sister here. I'll go and do the dishes. You two can help me with the chores when you're older, all right?” Avery said tenderly while patting her son's head.

She felt contented to have such considerate and sensible children.

Nonetheless, the two kids were only five years old. She thought they were still too young to handle housework.

Even though some children from low-income families matured early and began running errands at a young age to cultivate their awareness to be independent, that was prompted by the desperation of their circumstances.

Avery pecked her kids on their cheeks before turning on the television again.

She switched the channel to their favorite cartoon program and left the two kids to play in the living room before heading toward the kitchen with a load on her mind.

Late at night, Nina, who had just finished enjoying a karaoke session with her friends, was about to go home. She was tipsy after consuming some alcohol.

She bade her friends farewell and planned to hail a taxi to return home when an approaching couple with their arms wrapped around one another attracted all her attention.

Nina could recognize that man even if all that was left of him were his skeleton. That person was none other than the playboy, Dylan.

He was hugging a long-haired woman who had an innocent appearance and outstanding temperament.

She was wearing a white leather jacket and a slinky short skirt.
