Recently, Avery had been busy with her own matters. And since she was still recovering back then, she kept in touch with Blake via phone and video calls.

After receiving her aunt's call, Avery decided to visit Blake after work.

She originally wanted to bring the twins along, but they were at the Moore residence, and Cayden was on a business trip. That made things a little difficult.

Avery knew how Jeffrey would treat her. Moreover, Allie disliked the former. Avery would only be embarrassing herself if she went over to bring the children out.

After thinking about it, she decided to visit Blake alone. Hence, she asked the driver to send her to Blake's residential area.

Blake was naturally excited to see Avery. He quickly took her hand and asked her all kinds of questions, from her recovery to where Cayden was.

He also kept asking her about Zachary and Rory, wondering if they had grown taller or had been behaving well.

Despite how much he nagged and repeated his sentences, Avery responded to all of them patiently.

When they had finished catching up, Avery handed some medical plasters to Blake. “Grandpa, I know your spine area is weak, so I bought some plasters for you to try. You can use them in the morning and in the evening. I hope they can improve your spine.”

Avery was aware of his weak spine that hurt whenever he moved a little.

However, he was old. Since every surgery had its risks, the doctor did not recommend it. Instead, Blake could relieve the pain with medicine.

Avery had been thinking of ways to improve Blake's condition during her spare time.

The medicinal plasters were discovered when she overheard a conversation between two housekeepers.

One of them had a similar but rather severe spinal condition. According to the housekeeper, she overworked herself when she was younger, which made her spine hurt terribly every day. After that, she began using a special medicinal plaster made by a traditional medicine practitioner.

After using it for some time, the pain was relieved greatly. In fact, her symptoms lightened, and she could finally start working as a housekeeper.

That was how Avery got the idea of getting the housekeeper's help to buy a few boxes of the medicinal plaster for Blake to try.

Hence, she brought them along when she was visiting Blake.

The old man smiled and accepted it. Even though he did not expect much from the plasters, he still said lightheartedly, “You're such a kind girl. You always think of me. Avery hugged Blake's arm just like when she was a kid.

Amused, Blake said, “Tsk. You're all grown up. Why are you still so clingy like when you were young?”

Avery responded proudly, “No matter how old I am, I'll always behave like a kid around you. I'll stick to you just like when I was a kid.”

Blake patted his granddaughter's head affectionately. “You're going to be a mother soon. You can't continue behaving like this once you get married. Your in-laws don't look like people who are easy to get along with. If something happens in the future, just put up with it if possible. Don't argue with them. Of course, you can choose not to endure it and tell Cayden about it if they go too far. He looks like someone who has opinions of his own and treats you well rather than someone who'd obey every word his mother says. Make sure you talk to him and not endure it in silence, okay? If Cayden bullies you, you've got to tell me about it. I'll do everything in my power to make him pay.”

Blake's promise filled Avery's heart with warmth and sorrow. She never doubted his love for her.

Avery pouted and feigned nonchalance as she said, “I know, Grandpa. Don't worry. I'll move out instead of staying with the in-laws after marrying Cayden. That way, there'll be less interaction and misunderstandings. Besides, Cayden treats me well. He doesn't bully me. In fact, it's the other way round.”
