Chapter 744 Match Made In Heaven

As night fell, the lights shone brilliantly.

That night was the celebration of the Fuller Corporation's anniversary and Kevin's seventieth birthday. It was a double celebration, so the banquet was particularly grand. The banquet was held at a luxurious five-star hotel, and celebrities from all walks of life have been invited to attend.

Various luxury vehicles could be seen everywhere in the parking lot near the hotel.

Kevin was once a renowned big shot. His son, Samson, led an ordinary life but fathered three capable sons. The eldest, Charlie, inherited his grandfather's mantle and was a rising star in the military. The second son, Wilson, founded Fuller Group. The company flourished under his prudent management and operations as well as his strict and resolute methods. It firmly secured a top economic position in Ackleton. The youngest son, Roderick, was making waves abroad.

Aside from the eldest, Charlie, who got married a few years ago and sired a son and a daughter, the other two sons of the Fuller family were still bachelors.

Wilson was handsome and refined, his every move exuding elegance. Roderick, on the other hand, might have a rugged appearance, but his muscular physique and impressive strength were undeniable. He was once a top instructor in the special forces. Both men were highly sought-after bachelors.

Many of the families attending the banquet today were actually there to establish a marriage engagement with the men.

Forming a bond with a powerful family like the Fuller family was naturally an excellent idea. If one couldn't reach the Fuller family's status, utilizing their resources and connections would be beneficial to them. It would pose no harm to their grand business expansion plans.

The banquet was a whirl of clinking glasses and chatters, with celebrities gathering from all sorts of places. Reporters swarmed the hotel, inside and out, making it nearly impossible to get through.

Kevin was a traditional man. He wasn't particularly fond of bustling scenes in his youth, but as he aged, he grew to enjoy the lively atmosphere. Fuller Group, aiming to increase its prominence, invited many journalists.

Kevin bore a dignified countenance, dressed in festive attire. Despite clearly being in his seventies, his quality health routine made him appear as if he was a little over sixty. Furthermore, due to his long-standing high position in the military, he possessed a sharp, overpowering demeanor.

He sat upright on a mahogany chair on the elevated stage of the banquet hall, graciously accepting the well-wishes of those around him.

His son and daughter-in-law stood by his side. Together, they greeted the guests, graciously accepting their gifts while beaming.

In the center of the living room was the realm of the young. Men in tuxedos held their glasses, engaging in lively discussions. Meanwhile, the ladies, dressed gorgeously like butterflies, danced across the floor with the gentlemen.

Dressed in a black suit, Wilson stood tall at the railing on the second floor. He held a glass of red wine in his hand, his deep brown eyes quietly observing the laughter and chatter on the first floor. He took a gentle sip.

At that moment, he hoped Cayden had received his invitation and would bring Avery to the event.

Even though he knew that she was already married with children, he just couldn't let her go, despite her rejections. Even with the knowledge that her husband had returned, he still hadn't given up on her.

He was desperate to know what made the man she deeply loved superior to him. An obsession was whispering in his mind, making him wonder what made her prefer to remain a widow rather than accept his kindness towards her.

Just as he was deep in thought, a teasing, soft voice spoke behind him. “Wilson, why are you here all by yourself? I remember this isn't your style. You've always enjoyed the hustle and bustle, the socializing. Why are you hiding here now?”

Wilson turned his head, and what caught his eye was the sweetly dressed, serene Evangeline.

Initially, Wilson was so determined to win over Avery that he spent his days at Trident Group persistently pursuing her. It was during that time he met Evangeline. She bravely volunteered to be his spy, reporting every move and schedule of Avery to him. That was how they became acquainted.

Evangeline was beautiful and dressed innocently.

She applied a no-makeup look, appearing as if she had not put on any cosmetics at all, yet still captivating enough to keep all eyes on her.

Her long, silky black hair, untouched by any dye, cascaded down her back like a waterfall. Dressed in a white silk gown and crystal high heels, she looked like a fairy who had descended to earth, attracting everyone's attention.

Wilson couldn't help but frown. The latest version of Evangeline was completely different from the one he used to know.

She used to dress up in style and alluringly. Yet, for the past two years, she had been leaning toward a more innocent look. Sometimes, she would even give off the impression of being a high school student who had yet to graduate.

What puzzled Wilson the most was that in the past two years, her eyes and eyebrows seemed to have become somewhat similar to Avery's. If one didn't look closely, they might even think the two women were biological sisters. Consequently, he almost forgot what she used to look like.

However, he held back his questions. After all, in modern society, the art of makeup was so advanced that even a burly man could transform into a delicate beauty. Some makeup experts could even turn their ordinary looks into those of a celebrity. It was not surprising to him that she could change like that.
