Chapter 8 Hospital Examination

The car zoomed down the road and got there in no time. The driver had never seen Michael this pissed off before. He slammed the car door so hard, the driver started sweating bullets.

Meanwhile, Emily was chilling on the balcony, watering her flowers. She didn't have to deal with the Brown Family today, and she had pushed the whole divorce thing out of her mind. She was feeling pretty good. Then, out of nowhere, she heard the screech of brakes. She looked up and saw Michael, who had left earlier, storming back.

She frowned, wondering why he was back. 'Did he forget some documents?' But then she saw the furious look on his face as he pushed open the door. Her heart skipped a beat.

"Emily, go change. We're going to the hospital," Michael barked, snatching the watering can from her hand and tossing it aside.

Emily suddenly felt like she couldn't breathe. 'Did he find out I'm pregnant?' she wondered.

"I'm not going," she managed to say, her throat dry.

Michael's face got even darker. "I'm not asking. Are you going on your own, or do I have to get someone to tie you up and drag you there?"

Emily knew Michael could be a real tyrant. When he said something, he meant it, and he really would have someone tie her up.

She frantically tried to think of an excuse. She couldn't go to the hospital; she'd definitely be found out, and the consequences would be unbearable.

"Why do I need to go to the hospital? I'm not sick," she stalled, trying to buy time.
