Chapter 415 Absent-minded

Three days later

Michael slowly opened his eyes, taking in the familiar sight of the hospital room ceiling.

That same sterile smell.

He guessed he was in a hospital room, the pain in his body making it hard to move. He winced, feeling every ache.

From the window, Mason's voice broke the silence, filled with disdain.

"You're one lucky guy."

Michael managed a weak smile, seeing Mason looking down at him. He replied, "Grandpa, I'm sorry for worrying you again."

Mason waved his hand dismissively, not wanting to argue. "Just be grateful you're alive. The rest, we'll deal with later. You're recovering well, just some bruises. Rest up, and you'll be fine. Don't worry about the company. I'll handle things with Andrew on leave.

"I've arranged for a caregiver to take care of you here. Once you're discharged, you'll go back to the Smith Mansion. The staff there will make sure you're well taken care of." Mason spoke for a while, not mentioning Michael's divorce or Emily. Michael was surprised and wanted to ask, but couldn't find the words.

Mason knew what Michael was thinking. He had been through it himself and understood all too well.

But since those feelings were now useless, it was better to bury them deep inside.

Mason continued, "Alright, I'm heading to the office. If you don't want me to fall apart, get better soon. Then take care of the company, the Smith family, and your sister...

"Oh, and the caregiver will be here soon. Anything you need, just tell them. I've arranged everything."
