The screech of tires against the pavement echoed loudly on the deserted road, sounding particularly jarring in the silence of the night.

Noelle slammed on the gas, speeding forward until she was sure the car behind her would not catch up. She finally pulled over, but she was still shaken. She glanced back to see that the car tailing her was now almost completely wrecked. The car that had crashed into it seemed relatively unharmed and was positioned on top of the other vehicle.

Before long, Noelle saw someone step out of the undamaged car. The man, who was wearing a long black coat, lifted one of his long legs and kicked a man who was scrambling out of the wrecked car. It sent him sprawling onto the ground. Noelle barely registered the man's movements as she watched two men who had tried to escape now get pinned on the road.

Her eyes widened, and she stared at Steven in stunned silence as her mind went blank.

She recalled what Sean had said that even if Charles and Peter teamed up, they might not be a match for Steven. Hence, Charlie told her to find Steven when the situation was dangerous.
