Dahlia was well aware that Charlie had passed away. Yet, she brought up Charlie over and over again in front of her.

Evelyn was certain that Dahlia had made that call on purpose! She deliberately chose the day of Charlie's funeral to celebrate Sandy's nonsensical third-place win on sports day. She's putting on this display for Charlie.

Dahlia enjoyed boasting about how much Charles adored Sandy over Charlie.

When Charlie was alive, Dahlia took advantage of Charles' absolute favoritism towards her and Sandy and never spared Charlie from discomfort. Now that Charlie was deceased, they still wouldn't let Charlie her in peace. What an insult! Dahlia's actions were unforgivable!

"Evelyn, are you listening?" Dahlia's voice was still soft.

Evelyn felt utterly disgusted. A cold smile spread across her lips as she responded, "Sure."

Then, she hung up the phone.

As Evelyn stood up, she kissed Charlie's picture gently. "Charlie, I won't let you suffer any more indignities."

...

Dahlia's smile stiffened noticeably when she heard Evelyn say, "Sure." She hadn't expected Evelyn to actually agree to show up.

"Why did you invite Evelyn to Sandy's celebration?" Charles frowned upon hearing this.

"Don't you want to see Charlie?" Dahlia said softly.

Charles didn't say anything more; indeed, it had been a long time since he last saw her.
