Chapter 145

Evelyn knew she couldn't hold out forever. There was no way Charles would stand by while the woman he adored was getting hurt.

She stood her ground, watching as Charles strode over with determination. He grabbed Sena's arm mid-swing, and yanked her back forcefully. "Sena, what on earth are you doing? Stop this madness!" But Sena was too far gone, blinded by fury. Even as Charles pulled her away, her fists kept swinging at Dahlia. When she couldn't use her hands, she resorted to kicking, aiming vicious blows at Dahlia. "You bitch, you've ruined me! I'll make you pay!"

No matter how fast Charles acted, Dahlia still took several brutal kicks from Sena. Fueled by rage, Sena's strength seemed to double, each hit and kick landing harder than ever.

Dahlia's face was swollen and red, her lips pale from the pain. Her ears were ringing. She lay sprawled out on the coffee table, struggling to get up.

Charles finally managed to fling Sena to the floor. The burst of energy had left her drained, and she sat there, still glaring hatefully at Dahlia, whom Charles was now helping to her feet.

Dahlia leaned into Charles, tears brimming in her eyes. She looked every bit the picture of helplessness as if the world had done her wrong.
