Chapter 412

Dahlia barely noticed the cold vibe coming off Charles. She locked eyes with him, bracing herself on the wheelchair's armrests, and flung herself toward him without a second thought. "Charles, please, save Sandy..."

Charles was taken aback by her sudden leap and didn't have the time to catch her. She landed with a thud, kneeling at the foot of Josephine's hospital bed. "Dahlia!" Charles finally snapped back to reality, rushing over to help her up.

Dahlia clung to him, her face streaked with tears, filled with desperation and sorrow. "Charles, save Sandy, I'm begging you."

As her words sank in, Charles's face changed. He understood Sandy was in trouble. He gently lifted Dahlia from the floor and placed her back in her wheelchair, his voice filled with concern, "What happened to Sandy?"

Dahlia held onto him tightly, her sobs making it hard to talk. "Sandy... her kidney's rejecting the transplant... The doctor said it's serious."

"She's terrified, crying, and wants to see you... I called, but you didn't pick up!"

"Charles, I know Evelyn doesn't want me around, and I shouldn't have come, but I didn't know where else to turn."
