Chapter 493

Evelyn's mind was spinning with what had just happened in the bedroom. She had barely managed to escape from Charles...

If she ended up in Charles' clutches again, she knew she wouldn't get away. She couldn't let that happen. Right now, Evelyn was like a bird startled by the slightest sound, skittish and on edge. Just being in the same room as Charles filled her with fear. With wide, terrified eyes, she shouted, "Stay away!" as she darted towards the door.

He gave Evelyn's address before ending the call. He couldn't make it to the hospital on his own. Too many things could go wrong on the way. Afraid of losing control, he forced himself to get ice and fill the bathtub, submerging himself in the freezing water. The icy chill bit into his skin, temporarily cooling him

you!" It was a new formula; no ordinary hospital would have the antidote. If Andrew hadn't had one, Charles might have been in serious trouble. The ice water was only a temporary fix. As soon as Charles left it, the heat surged back. But his gaze was icy. As the antidote worked its way through his system, Charles lay on the couch, eyes closed. Slowly, his breathing
