Chapter 634

He checked every inch of her, not willing to miss a single spot that might be hurt.

His breathing was rough and uneven against her neck, his voice raw and shaking from the shock and pain. Every word sounded dragged up from somewhere deep inside, frantic and desperate. "Eve! Eve! Are you hurt? Tell me where! Say something! Did you hit your head? Are your bones okay?!"

He fired off questions one after another, his eyes locked onto her like he was afraid she'd vanish if he dared to blink.

He tried to check her legs, but a sharp pain shot through his own arm and stopped him in his tracks. Sweat broke out on his forehead, but he bit down hard, refusing to let even the smallest sound of pain slip out-his attention glued to Evelyn.

Held tight in his arms, Evelyn could feel his heart pounding like a drum, his whole body trembling from pain and the strain of holding it in.

her up.

"Eve, get in. We'll take Charlie home together."

Evelyn got in.

Charles told the driver to follow Luna's car up ahead.

They caught up quickly.
