Chapter 1270 Are You Insulting the Dignity of Mecria?

At the Prime Minister’s Residence in Mccria.

After the confidential secretary delivered Garren’s message, a heavy silence fell over the Prime Minister’s -council.

Although Mecria’s naval and air forces were undeniably powerful, they lacked the courage to confront someone like Divine Drakebane–a man whose abilities were virtually otherworldly.

They understood that in any conflict between global powers, military strength was vital but not the deciding factor.

The true power lay in the resolve of the ruling class and the unity of the people. These elements were essential and irreplaceable when it came to determining victory or defeat.

Eight decades ago, Mecria’s warships had arrogantly set foot on foreign soil, invading a land once governed by a knightly nation, known for its humility, righteousness, compassion, courage, justice, sacrifice, honor, and noble spirit.

However, once they set foot on the Eastern land, their noble pretenses were ripped away. They revealed themselves as nothing but pillaging invaders–burning, killing, and looting, committing every conceivable atrocity.

The people of that era were ignorant and subjugated, while the officials lived in luxury, indifferent to their responsibilities.

It was a time when the Soarele nobles were convinced that their mighty ships and cannons could easily conquer the “sleeping lion” of the East.

Then, one day, a legendary dragon arose, quickly wiping away all signs of weakness. The sound of a cannon over the Dragon River shattered the illusions of the Soarele Empire, which had dreamed of subjugating the proud and ancient people of the East.

It was then that Mecria’s knights realized the truth, the once–mighty Rensa Empire, steeped in cold and dark energy, had already fallen. What was awakening now was a land full of strength and vitality.

History had long taught one undeniable fact: In the East, the noble class meant little.

Women and wealth could make the weak nobles bow, and they would sell their soul to live a comfortable life.

The common people, on the other hand, were a force to reckon with.

When pushed too far, no powerful faction could subdue them. The people were kind, tolerant, and welcoming–but they would never allow themselves to be humiliated or deceived.

Once the true face of an invader or corrupt ruler was revealed to them, the people would turn their backs without hesitation. By that time, no pleas for mercy would be of any use. That was the nature of Draconians!

They would be kind to friendly people, but if someone came to threaten them, all they would be greeted with was death.
