Chapter 1582

As Mirabella stepped out of the physics department, the sky outside had taken on a moody gray, signaling that rain was just around the corner. At the school gate, Nick was already there, leaning casually against a post. He was just about to send a text when he spotted Mirabella coming out, so he tucked his phone back into his pocket with a smile.

"Hey, Nick, have you been waiting long?" Mirabella asked as she walked up to him.

Nick, with his fair skin and an air that screamed old-money charm, chuckled softly. "Not really, I just got here myself."

Mirabella nodded, moving towards the curb while fishing out her phone. "I need to send a quick text to... you know, the kid."

Earlier, they had decided to invite Cassie to join them for dinner.

Nick nodded, and soon enough, they were both in the car, heading towards Parkside High School.

By the time they reached the school, a gentle rain had started to fall. As the car rolled to a stop near the entrance, Mirabella noticed a young boy standing awkwardly by the gate. He was caught in the drizzle without an umbrella, his thin school uniform clinging to him as he shivered like a little lost puppy.
