"I just need to figure out who's messing up our lives," Kael said, and I tried to make sense of his words.

I was still conversing with myself when he grabbed my hand and guided me out of the room. Everything after that became a blur.

But just when I was about to open my mouth, his phone rang. We bought a charger before renting a car, and he charged it right away as soon as we sat inside this vehicle. He turned it on just before we got our food. "Landon..." He mumbled and picked it up.

He was not even able to say anything when Landon's voice came, and I could hear it clearly despite not having the phone on the speaker. "What happened to you? I've been calling you since yesterday." "Relax, I'm okay. My phone battery was empty, and I don't have any charger." Kael said nonchalantly before he put the phone in speaker mode and placed it back on the dashboard. "How's the pack?"
