"You need to be careful," Adessa said. Her eyes softened, and even if she was trying to smile, I could see the worry in her expression.

I smiled and nodded before wrapping my arms around her and pulling her into a tight embrace. "I will come back alive. I have many things to make up for, and I need to get you out of this mess first."
