Chapter 718

Vernon felt his heart skip a beat. When he opened his eyes, his vision was blurred with a red hue. As he raised his hand to wipe the blood from his eyes, he realized how much weaker he felt there.

When Vernon looked over at his arm, he realized only half of it was raised. It was severed in the middle with blood gushing out from his wound. Then, he saw his hand lying on the ground.

Suddenly, realization dawned on him, and he shouted at Matthew in fright, "What have you done? Can't we settle this with money? What problem can't be solved with money? If it's not enough, I'll give you more."

Matthew sported an icy look, and his words were cold enough to send chills down anyone's spine. "You're right. There's nothing money can't fix. Lose a hand? Just pay for the analgesia pump and there's no more pain. Isn't that so?"

Vernon was stumped by the question, but he knew he had to respond. "Exactly. No more pain. That's why money is so great. With money, you can buy anything. I'll pay you, and you can get whatever you want."

He tried everything he could to convince Matthew to take the money. It was his only chance to stay alive.

The fire axe was swung down once more. With a snap, the sound of bones breaking echoed, and his other hand was severed as well.
