Today, Franklin was as handsome and dignified as ever, tall and composed, and just like before, his expression would grow notably colder whenever he saw her.

Like yesterday, Franklin merely glanced at her before looking away.

Maggie lowered her eyes and, just like yesterday, softly called out “President Franklin,” waiting until he had walked away before entering the company.

She didn’t know if Julia was at the company today, nor did she care. She focused silently on

her own work.

At noon, her grandmother called.

“Mag, X City sent over a lamb. The weather’s getting cold now, come home for dinner tonight. Grandmother will have them prepare a whole lamb feast for you.”

Hearing the elderly lady’s kind voice, warmth filled Maggie’s heart, “Alright, I’ll come right

Apart from the morning, Maggie didn’t run into Franklin again that day.
