Zada nodded. “Yeah, I’ll bring the soup to the hospital now so Halsey can have it while it’s hot.”

Sierra reached out. “Let me help.”

“No, it’s fine. I’ll do it myself,” Zada said, brushing her off.

Sierra was frustrated. Zada wasn’t giving her a chance to polson the soup. The little packet of powder was still in her pocket.

“What are you just standing there for? Go sit in the living room for a bit. I’ll be quick,” Zada said.

Sierra was getting anxious. The soup was ready. If she didn’t find a chance now, she’d lose this once–in–a- lifetime opportunity!

“But I wanna do something for Halsey, too. Let me help,” Sierra pressed, moving to grab the ladle from Zada.

But Zada pushed her hand away. “Really, I don’t need help. You’ll only get in the way.”
