Chapter 718

Sky was momentarily stunned by everything Sierra had said. Most of what she recalled, he couldn't remember at all.

His memories of visiting the Sinclair family as a child were vague at best. Most of them were tied to Emma.

Sierra gave him a gentle smile. "Mr. Walker, you might not remember, but I'll never forget. You once gave me a gift."

As she spoke, she lifted her wrist slightly and let the silver bracelet catch the light. Hanging from it was a small, heart-shaped blue diamond.

"Mr. Walker, you gave me this bracelet."

Sky stared at the bracelet, his expression drifting as a faint memory surfaced. He vaguely recalled that Samantha had brought home a little orphan when Sophia was either six or eight years old.

Samantha had held a party for the child, and many people in Dithoria had attended.

At that event, Samantha had introduced her newly adopted daughter. That little girl, once nameless and known only as a street beggar, was finally given her first name Sierra Sinclair.

Samantha had called her a star gifted by Heaven. The little star had gotten lost and wandered the earth, suffering greatly, so she named her Sierra. From that moment on, Sierra's life would only be sweet and no longer touched by hardship.

But despite Sophia's protection, the other children in Dithoria looked down on Sierra. In places the adults couldn't see, they rolled their eyes at her. Some were even crueler, going so far as to bully her.

Sky had seen it happen once, near the pool.

He was still a child himself, but even then, he had a strong sense of justice. He stepped in, pulled Sierra out of the crowd, offered her a napkin and wiped her tears. He then gave her a gift—the very bracelet she now wore.

He had actually bought two of them. One was for Emma, and the other originally meant for Sophia. But when he saw that little girl crying so hard, he gave it to her instead.
