Chapter 132

“How should I know?” Kent whispered too, “Got a call at noon, seemed to relate to Sophia or something. No idea what happened, but he left without even attending the shareholders’ meeting. He was out and about for most of the day, and when he came back, he was like this.”

Kent was filled with questions as he said this.

When Brandon came back in the evening, he looked no different than usual, just a bit distracted while working.

It wasn’t often that he was spaced out.

But the thing about this kind of daydreaming was that it was so subtle they couldn’t catch a hint of what was on his mind.

Kent could only sense that Brandon wasn’t in high spirits.

Don seemed to catch the drift. “Is it something to do with Sophia again?”

Kent glanced at him. “Other than her, who else do you think can mess with my boss’s mood?”

That was spot on.

If Kent hadn’t seen with his own eyes how Brandon and Sophia were together at the restaurant that day, he wouldn’t have believed Sophia could affect Brandon’s mood.

“What happened to Sophia?” Don asked, feeling as Sophia’s boss he should show some concern.

“I haven’t got a clue.”

Kent really didn’t know, he just remembered Brandon getting a call from Wye City, then seeing Brandon repeatedly redialing, his face shifting from calm to increasingly anxious. When he was restless, his call was returned.

Kent clearly saw Brandon’s face relax with relief, but in less than two minutes, Brandon’s expression darkened abruptly/he stood up, and then hurried out in a frenzy.

“Why not just ask?” Don grumbled, then stood up and knocked on the door, “What’s up? You’ve been zoning out for ages.”

Brandon was propping his forehead with one hand, and lazily looked up at him. “What brings you here?”

“Got off work and had nothing to do, so I swung by to check on you,” Don said as he approached, adding, “Single life, no nightlife.” “So what?”
