The nurse finished adjusting the blinds by the window and turned around with a smile upon noticing Ivy stirring.

“Ms. Dunhill, you’re awake! I’m Elara, the nurse responsible for your care during your stay here. I was just about to draw the curtains a bit to let you sleep in longer. Did I wake you with the noise?”

Upon hearing that Balfour had gone to fetch some items, Ivy’s eyelashes fluttered downward. Unwilling to admit it, she found herself in need of Balfour, especially now. She wished he would stay by her side, not leaving even for a moment.
