Leonard's POV:

The chicken soup spilled all over the floor and scalded Alina's hand. I immediately regretted my rash actions and felt guilty.

I didn't want to get angry with Alina, but she blatantly ignored my orders over and over again. Ever since Alina had come back from the capital, she had become more withdrawn and difficult to communicate with. This wasn't the first time that she had ignored my orders.

Last time, she threw a fit when I tried to arrange a marriage for her and even flipped a table in front of a group of elders.

I sighed helplessly. The anger in my heart quickly dissipated. I wanted to say something to ease the tension, but I couldn't bring myself to apologize.

The atmosphere quickly became awkward.

Alina looked at the shattered bowl on the ground for a few seconds, and then squatted down to clean up the mess.

She was neither angry nor upset. Her silence made me feel terrible. I would rather she cry and get angry at me than see her like this.

But she had always been like this. Whenever she felt wronged, she would swallow it and say that she was fine.
