Chapter 72
“What did they say?”
Patric’s brows knitted together, as he waited with bated breath for the response.
“Miss Sarah has been grounded by Mr. Grammer. She’s not allowed out without his say so,” the butler replied with the utmost respect.
Patric huffed, “That’s good. In this way, she can’t come to Frant City to make trouble anymore. I can finally have some peace and quiet.”
He dismissed his butler with a casual wave of his hand, and continued to gaze on the closed doors.
Back in S city, at the Grammer family household.
Sarah was in a rage in her room.
“Dad is really pushing it too far! How could he lock me up in this room, not even allowing me out of this door?!”
A ser vant approached gingerly, trying to soothe her in hushed tones, “Miss Grammer, try not to take it too hard. It’s just house arrest. You just have to lay low for a while, and this too shall pass.” “What would you know? Get out!”
Sarah ripped all the flowers from the vase and flung them at the ser vant. “Get lost, and stop adding fuel to the fire!”
Still unsatisfied, she snat ched up the vase and slammed it into
n the
ground.
“Miss Grammer, that’s not on! That’s a crystal vase your mother brought back from Florence Republic, it’s worth a fortune. You can’t just smash it!”

The serv ant looked at the now chipped vase with a pained expression but didn’t dare
“These things are all mine, I can do with them as I please! You’re just a se rvant, how dare give me the runaround? If you don’t button up, I’ll rip your tongue out!”

Sarah continued her rampage, shoving off all the makeup from the table. The clutter that hit the floor sounded like a car crash, impossible to ignore.
The serv ant, realizing that any further attempt to calm Sarah down was a fool’s errand, clammed up, shut the door, and beat a hasty retreat.
Naturally, Mr. and Mrs. Grammer were clued in about Sarah’s temper tantrum upstairs. Mr. Grammer’s face was a thundercloud as he stubbed his cigarette out in the ashtray.
“Look at the sweet daughter you’ve raised!”
“What’s that supposed to mean?”

Mrs. Grammer shot back, “She’s not just my daughter, or have you conveniently forgotten that? Are you trying to wash your hands off all responsibility?”
“If you hadn’t kept mollycoddling her, would she have turned out this way? Patric is determined to call off the engagement, and no amount of me eating humble pic is changing his mind. If we let her keep running wild, the Grammer family are headed for a fall!” Mr. Grammer’s fury was a sight to behold.
“You!”
Mrs. Grammer was just about to respond when their son, Adrain, sensing the brewing storm, decided to step in and play peacemaker.

“Dad, Mom, Sarah is locked up. It’s normal for her to be in a bad mood. It’s good for her to vent her anger!”
“That’s not the way to vent her anger! You hear that? If she keeps throwing a hissy fit like this, we’ll lose all our world-class heirlooms!”
Mr. Grammer pointed upstairs, sighing heavily and shaking his head as if he was one disappointed camper.
The sounds of crashing and breaking echoed faintly from upstairs. After a moment’s thought, Adrain decided he would head up and calm her downL
Upstairs, Sarah was just about to slam an antique decorative plate onto the floor.
“Who has our dear Miss Grammer all hot under the collar?” Adrain took the plate from her hand, leading her to sit on the couch. “Anger isn’t good for your health, Sarah. Smash a few things to blow off steam, then cool your jets.”
“Adrain!”
Sarah, pouting, pulled his arm, “All this over a divorced woman, and now Patrick is considering calling off our engagement!”
Adrain pinched her cheek lightly.
“I reckon it’s not just that, right? You can’t pull the wool over my eyes.”
“Ever since that woman got divorced, Patrick’s had her cooped up in his villa, treating her like the apple of his eye. How do you expect me to swallow that?”
Sarah’s face was a picture of exasperation as she continued.
“Adrain, you’ve always been my knight in shining armor, will you kill Grace for me?” She played up the puppy dog eyes as she shook his arm, “You wouldn’t stand by and watch your baby sister’s man be stolen by another woman, would you?”
However, Adrain’s eyes flashed with surprise. He steadied Sarah by her shoulders, “Say that again, Sarah. What’s that woman’s name?”
Sarah looked at him, taken aback, but she repeated herself, “Grace Salen. An orphan from Frant City Welfare Institution. What makes her think she can compete with me? Wait…Adrain, do you know
her?
Grace Salen…
This name was too familiar.
Could it be her?
But how could she be an orphan?
Adrain released his grip, turning around to mull over her words. Doubts were cropping up in his
mind.
“Adrain, what’s the matter?
Sarah noticed his odd reaction, asking in confusion.
“Do you have a picture of this Grace Salen?”
“She was on the trending list some time ago. You can probably find her mug shot on the internet, you didn’t know?”
Adrain shook his head.
He was never one to keep up with the gossip mill, but the news Sarah had brought up hadn’t made

any waves in the 5 City. It seemed as though the bigwig families had managed to keep a lid on things.
Could it be the Smith family?
Why would the Smith family want to hush up news about this woman in S City?
His wheels were turning, doubts and guesses mounting.
Sarah sat on the sofa, whipping out her mobile and displaying a previously clandestinely snapped. photo of Grace. She thrust the phone into Adrain’s face.
“Adrain, you’ve got to help me. If we can send this bi tch six feet under, there won’t be anyone left to steal Patric away from me…”
While Sarah was still chattering. Adrain looked at the photos on her mobile phone, his amorous eyes full of excitement.
