Chapter 124
“Grace?!”
Grace was startled. Could it be that Edgar… also drank fake wine?
She didn’t say anything, but Adrain, who heard Edgar interrupt his confession, felt his anger rising. Fueled by alcohol, he got up from the ground and rushed over, grabbing Edgar’s collar with one hand and clenching his other hand into a fist, ready to strike at Edgar’s face.
“It was you who hurt her a few days ago. What right do you have to flaunt yourself in front of her?!”
Edgar remained motionless, offering no explanation, his black eyes locking in a fearless gaze with Adrain. Adrain was furious, and it seemed like his fist was about to land.
Grace shouted, “Seventeen, Eighteen!”
Seventeen and Eighteen immediately jumped in through the open window, separating the two men who were facing off.
Adrain didn’t get to throw his punch, feeling rather frustrated. “Grace, why didn’t you let me teach him a lesson?”
Grace exchanged a glance with Seventeen and Eighteen, then said, “Mr. Grammer is drunk. Take him home.”
“Yes.”
“I’m not drunk, really. Grace, I’m not drunk…”
Adrain mumbled, his voice growing fainter as he was supported by the two bodyguards, becoming more and more distant.
Finally, it was quiet. Edgar no longer pretended to have a stomach ache and regained his usual composure.
Grace looked at him sarcastically and asked, “Why did you stop pretending?”
Edgar tightly pursed his lips, walked silently to her, lowered both knees, and knelt steadily in front of her. This time, it was his own initiative to kneel.
When Adrain knelt on one knee earlier, it was an expression of love. But when Edgar knelt on both knees, it was an act of redemption.
Grace didn’t understand his actions. “What are you doing?”
Edgar looked up at her, his gaze determined. “There’s something that has troubled me for many years. Can you tell me the truth tonight?”
“Go ahead, speak.”
“On March 14th, thirteen years ago, did you go to Berth Street? Did you save a little boy?”
Grace was about to deny it.

Edgar continued first, “If you continue to brush me off like before, I will keep investigating. I won’t give up until I get the final answer!”
That incident was never important to Grace. “Is my honesty important? Is it important to obtain that
result?”
“It’s important.”
Locking eyes, Grace saw anticipation, earnestness, and a longing for her to tell the truth in his dark.
-eyes.
“If I give you my answer, will you stop investigating?”
“Yes.”
His tone was resolute.
Well, then, saving that person was just an accident, a trivial matter for her. It wouldn’t matter if she told him. “Yes, I did go there. I vaguely remember saving a boy from a car accident that day, but I don’t recall the details.”
Edgar’s eyes reddened slightly, and his low voice trembled. “That’s enough.”
Over the years, he had made such a tremendous mistake! He had mistaken the person he liked for the person he owed gratitude to, and he had received her, but he hadn’t cherished her….
Edgar felt a sudden pain in his chest.
Taking a step forward on his knees towards Grace, his eyes teary, he called out to her, “Grace, I…
“Stop!”
Those two words sent shivers down Grace’s spine. Every time he spoke softly, it felt like there was at hidden agenda. Couldn’t he just speak normally? Why was he calling her Grace in such a sweet tone?
And… saying Grace so sweetly?
Why not call her Master?
Grace told him with a serious expression, “I’ll give you two choices: call me “Master’ or call me ‘Miss Grace”.”
Edgar’s face turned pale, and he struggled internally. “Then, I’ll call you Miss Grace.”
After the internal struggle, he continued with a trembling voice. “These days, I finally understand my feelings and realize how terribly wrong I was before… Grace, it turns out that the one I have always liked, loved, and felt grateful for is you, from beginning to end! I was foolish, I was…”
Before he could finish speaking. Grace lifted his chin with her fingertip. Seeing his remorseful expression and his black eyes filled with regret, he really looked like he had realized his mistake. “Let me guess: you’ve had an epiphany, and now you want to make the best of a bad situation?”
A smile curled at the corner of her lips, and her eyes revealed undisguised mockery.
Besides mockery and coldness, no other emotions could be found in those eyes. Edgar’s heart ached fiercely.
He was not surprised that Yvonne’s words were overheard by the bodyguards and conveyed to her. However, he would never stoop so low as to engage in such despicable behavior.
“I would never engage in the kind of behavior that coerces you. From now on, I won’t deceive you by pretending anymore. Whether you believe it or not, I will prove to you that I am willing to compensate for what I owe you, whether it’s through restitution or paying the price, as long as you give me another chance.”
“Another chance?”
Grace chuckled, “I don’t care if you’re under the influence of the wrong medication or experiencing a me ntal breakdown today. There’s one thing I’ll make crystal clear to you! I will never reconcile with you, remarry you in this lifetime. It’s Impossible unless you’re dead!TM
Unless he died?
Edgar smiled bitterly. He understood her character, but he still couldn’t give up. He had to try to feel

the pain in his heart once again…
“I hurt you deeply and don’t deserve your forgiveness. Then let me stay by your side for the rest of my life as a ser vant to atone for my sins.”
For the rest of his life?
Grace raised an eyebrow slightly, her lips filled with disdain. “So, if I marry another man in the future, can you bear to watch us being affectionate every day?”
