Chapter 13

Chapter Thirteen

After the last bell rang, I was desperate to escape. The day had been grueling, with the constant stares, whispers, and the boys hovering around me like shadows. All I wanted was to go home, hide in my cabin, and drown out the world.

As I unlocked my bike, Savannah approached me, her curly blonde hair bouncing as she jogged over.

"Hey, Stormi," she said, flashing me a smile.

"Hi," I said, trying to sound more upbeat than I felt. Savannah was one of the few people who didn't treat me badly from the very beginning.

I groaned inwardly.

"What do you want now?" I snapped, gripping my bike handle tighter.

Elijah stopped in front of me, his golden eyes scanning my face. "We need to talk."
