Chapter Twenty Six

By the time I got home that evening, the sky had turned gtay, and a steady drizzle had started to fall. I locked the door, closed the windows, and settled into bed, hoping for a peaceful night.

But, of course, peace wasn't in the cards for me.

As I lay there, listening to the rain, I couldn't shake the feeling that was being watched. I tried to ignore it, pulling the covers up to my chin and closing my eyes. But when the feeling didn't go away, I finally got up and peeked out the window.
